Hanji, to kahan the hum? I was ready, the result was about to come and the pc was on. What happened next? Refresh your memory here. . . . At around 9- 9:15, me and my sister decided to CONNECT that telephone wire….. During the next few minutes, all I wanted to see was “connected” appear on the screen. The dialtone. The weird sound. Finally, the dial up started just fine and so, the first step was accomplished. I opened the CBSE website and sat before the screen, staring at the result link, continuously. In a few minutes, at around 9:30, the result was finally out. You see, in India, we take pride in finishing the work right towards the end and give a damn to deadlines, let alone doing something before the scheduled time. So, it was strange that CBSE decided to declare the result half an hour before the scheduled time. Anyways, Hume kya…. I opened the link. Entered my board roll no. & boinnngggg…… The marksheet appeared on the screen. Finally, I was the first to see my own result. I checked out the marks and calculated my percentage….93.4%.The icing on the cake was a 100/100 in Social Science, I hadn’t expected that even in my wildest dreams. Damn happy I was. My sister called our parents. Mom first. She was in the bus, on her way to office. Turns out, she started crying after hearing the result. You know na, we Indians, smile of pain and tears of joy…, that’s what it was. So after some mubaarka-congratulations-god bless you….. it was time to tell dad. He too was in the metro at that time, and he too was damn happy. Then I checked my friends’result and some toppers’ as well, turns out, I was fourth in my school. What big deal? , you say. Here’s why… these were the scores of the top four…. #1 472/500 #2 469/500 #3 468/500 #4 467/500 I was #4, but it felt great to know that I came so close to the toppers. The scoreline was a great thing for the school as well. Then as the euphoria continued, the next few minutes were spent talking to classmates, friends and congratulating them. This was the first BIG result for all of us, it was special. Now shifting the action to mom’s office. Just as she entered her office, everyone looked at her and said, “Result to nahi aaya abhi.” My mom told them it had come out an hour ago and all of them checked it then. So what does that tell you? That I accomplished my goal of seeing my result before anyone else did. The happiness continued for the next few days…. So that was my RESULT AA GAYA !! story…. what’s yours?
